My Clone

I'm so excited! I bought a clone the other day, haha! Thanks to a friend I got to make a real bargain :) So pleased with it too! A little bit off but I think I can fix it, she'll be perfect as her sizes range from XS-L means I can sew any size I want :)

Plushies!

I printed these ADORABLE patterns I bought on etsy yesterday and thought I'd show you! The patterns are from DIY fluffies over at Etsy.com. I'll probably end up buying the lot :)

Aren't they cute? I think you can expect to see at least one of these on here by the end of the week. The patterns seem so easy; well made and did I meantion cute?  ;)  Can't wait to try one of them out.

Update on my T-shirt rug

I promised to do an update on the rug so here it is!

7 or 8 or so T-shirts later this is what I got. Sorry about the really tiny picture. At least I put my pink slippers in there ;)

 

I couldn't resist snapping this picture as well. This one is for you Yasmin! My cheeky lil no name hedgehog snuck in to the picture somehow. 

Not much else is happening over here. I tried to start a new baby quilt but failed miserably. I can't believe I have at least 10 different pink fabrics but none of them go together, if you know what I mean.

Very annoying. Hopefully I'll do better tomorrow. That's it for today :)

Pincushion

Alright, I've had the ugliest of pincushions for ages now. It's a pear and it's not a pretty one either. The other day I found a tutorial of sorts to make a pincushion out of a jar that I really wanted to try, which I did this morning.

All I can say is, I need more practise with the glue gun that's for sure!  Mine doesn't look even half as pretty as the one on the tutorial picture.

But atleast this one is prettier than my old one :) And it's multifunctional as I can put things in it!

The Hedgehog

I was feeling a bit lonely in the sewing room today,
so I decided to make myself some company :)
Without further ado, let me present my hedgehog!
Haven't really decided what to call him yet but he'll
be my faithful companion by the sewing machine from
now and onwards. 

Felt Flowers

So I ran out of T-shirts and have to wait till one is ruined so I can chop it up and
continue my rug.  Still wanted to try and be creative though.

That's when I remembered that I bought a load of felt ages ago to try some new things.
Thanks to google I found plenty of good tutorials to try.

Guess I need some more practise though.
And glue... I didn't have any so I decided to sew all the petals on. Not much  fun at all :)
The white rose I made the same way as you would create a ribbon rose.

Repurpose T-shirts

Thought I'd make a quick update. Haven't gotten much sewing done lately but tonight
I decided I had to at least try to make something. So when I found an old T-shirt I got
to thinking. What could I possibly do with it?

I tried to make some bracelets I've seen online but they weren't really for me.
But since I had already chopped the T-shirt up I figured I'd try to crochet a rug :)
Only to find out that one T-shirt doesn't really get you that for...

Which means that Hubby is going to have to buy some new ones soon hehe

 

I actually think it will look pretty cool once it's done. Hopefully I can find a couple of white ones 

and a few more black ones to finish it off ;)

Nothing of interest

I admit I have been lazy lately.But... Soon I'll get back to it. That's what I'm telling myself.
I have embroidered a few towels though, and started on something I should
have finished ages ago.

Also decided on a birthday present :) But I'll keep it a secret for a while.

Machines

Today I learned something I should have a LONG time ago,
that my machines WILL work better if I clean them and make
sure to fasten all the screws. Good job there!

So not much sewing done except some embroidering.



Done using my Brother Innovis 500D :) I like it, now that it works
like a charm again.

Ebay...

I'm kind of peed off at Ebay today. I so thought I had the winning bid until someone
swooped in and snatched it from when there were only 30 seconds left :(
Usually most patterns offered on there are sized big and since I'm petite it makes it
much harder.

I am looking forward to getting this pattern (V2903) home though:



I'm itching to go and buy some fabric for it even though I'm not sure of what I want yet.

Now I'm on needles waiting for the next auction to end. I really want the pattern, it's big, but I want it.

The beginning of a new year.

With the new year I decided it would be a good idea to finally start sewing all the things
I've planned to do for ages. I started out last year with Simplicity 8981, in denim,
which turned out pretty cute! Even though the fit was a tiny bit off in the front.
I'll have to get some decent pictures soon.



Yesterday I wanted to try something that was a bit easier since I am a bit of a
beginner at sewing clothes. This meant that I started on a simple skirt, also in denim,
however I didn't take into account that denim, even though it's a fine denim is a bit stiff.
Leading to a skirt that moved very weirdly, the fit is great, the movement not so much :(

I will give it another shot once I got some new fabric and when my Vogue patterns
arrive!
